Well Foundation Fitrana Appeal
WELL Foundation Sadaqat al-Fitr (Fitrana) Appeal Fitrana, Fitrah, Sadaqah ul-Fitr or Zakat ul-Fitr are the terms used to define that money which is obligatory to be given to the needy before Eid-ul Fitr.
This money is paid to the poor people so that they can fulfil their needs on the Eid day. Since Eid day is to be celebrated by all Muslims since it is a reward or prize from ALLAH swt against the whole month fasts Muslims observe during Ramadan. Fitrana is an obligation on every Muslim, whether male or female, minor or adult as long as he/she has the means to do so. He must pay for himself and can pay on behalf of his dependants (he must do this if they are unable to pay).
Since bygone days, people have marked some special days in the year to rejoice and celebrate and to be happy. In Islam, the two official days to rejoice are the two Eids. But these special occasions are for every Muslim not only for those who can celebrate and feel happy. This is why is has been made obligatory for the Muslims who are sahb-e nisab to pay Fitrana to the poor before Eid prayer.
WELL Foundation will be distributing money in poor areas of pakistan with their team on the ground, last year Mashallah we raised over £3,000 which was passed to the poor people who also enjoyed EID. you can donate £3 at justgiving.com/wellfitrana or text "FITR78 £3" to 70070
