Well Foundation partnership with Kanoute Foundation Development Trust The SAKINA Children’s Village is a children’s welfare project initiated by Kanouté Foundation (Development Trust). • This project cares for the orphaned street children of Bamako (Mali, West Africa) and the surrounding areas – from 3 to 18 years of age.
• The integrated services will ensure that children are housed, fed, schooled or trained in a trade, and receive basic health care. • Many of the facilities - in particular the school and health centre, will also be open to the local community. • Once completed Sakina Children’s Village will include the following: -9 family houses– each housing approximately 11 children, with a ‘foster mother’ (Housing Complex) -A house for the Village Director and his family (Housing Complex) -An administration office (house), and accommodation for visiting (foreign) volunteers -Health centre -School and training centre -An agricultural farm to supply the complex, and provide training in agriculture -Sports and recreational facilities -Mosque |
