Well Foundation partnership with Kanoute Foundation Development Trust

The SAKINA Children’s Village is a children’s welfare project initiated by Kanouté Foundation (Development Trust).

• This project cares for the orphaned street children of Bamako (Mali, West Africa) and the surrounding areas – from 3 to 18 years of age.

• The integrated services will ensure that children are housed, fed, schooled or trained in a trade, and receive basic health care.

• Many of the facilities - in particular the school and health centre, will also be open to the local community.

• Once completed Sakina Children’s Village will include the following:

-9 family houses– each housing approximately 11 children, with a ‘foster mother’ (Housing Complex)

-A house for the Village Director and his family (Housing Complex)

-An administration office (house), and accommodation for visiting (foreign) volunteers

-Health centre

-School and training centre

-An agricultural farm to supply the complex, and provide training in agriculture

-Sports and recreational facilities

-Mosque
